USBC - Back to the Basics Confession 8-23-26

Have you ever done something wrong and confessed it? Confession has always been part of the human psyche. Our conscience will eat at us until we break and confess our wrong doing. Although this process can be agonizing, it can also be liberating.

This Sunday (8-23-26), I will be sharing the third message in the 4-part Sermon Series (Back to the Basics) entitled, “Confession” and it will focus on 1 John 1:9; James 5:16a; Romans 10:9-10. When we come to God and confess our sins, we will be forgiven and experience freedom and joy. Confession is more than just saying “sorry”; it is letting go of our sin and transgression and putting it into the hands of God.

USBC - Back to the Basics (Scripture) 8-16-26

How much do you know about the Bible? There is so much that one can learn and glean from the spoken word of God. But if it is never read nor applied, it will never have the opportunity to impact one’s life in a significant and meaningful way.

This Sunday (8-16-26), I will be sharing the second message in the 4-part Sermon Series (Back to the Basics) entitled, “Scripture” and it will focus on Hebrews 4:12; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; John 1:1, 14a. The Bible has been given to us as a tool to equip and encourage us for Kingdom living in the world. Spending intentional time reading and meditating on Scripture is the daily sustenance we need as followers of Christ.

USBC - Back to the Basics Prayer 8-9-26

How often do you pray? Prayer is a special gift that God gives us so that we can share our needs, our wants, our concerns, and our praises with Him. With such benefits of prayer, we should be in constant prayer.

This Sunday (8-9-26), I will be starting a 4-part Sermon Series entitled, Back to the Basics and the first message is entitled, “Prayer” and it will focus on Matthew 5:44-47; 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18; Hebrews 4:16. Prayer was an integral part in the life of Christ and as followers of Christ we are called to follow the powerful example of our King.

USBC - Courage is Greater Than Gossip 8-2-26

Do you have the courage to confront a person who has hurt you? When someone has done an injustice against you, it can be hard to confront them with their wrong. It is easy to talk about the person, but it can be very challenging to state your concerns face to face.

This Sunday (8-2-26), I will be sharing a message entitled, “Courage is Greater than Gossip” and it will focus on Matthew 18:15-17. Jesus gives us specific instructions on how to deal with conflict and sin in the church community. Those of us who follow Jesus will choose courage. We will go directly to the source as Jesus instructs, instead of going to everyone else and spreading gossip.

USBC - Beginning to Sink (Part 2) - 7-26-26

Have you ever felt that you were sinking in life? The struggles in life often makes one feel as if they are sinking. There are some reasons of why we sink in life. Also, when we sink, we expose a lot about who we are.

This Sunday (7-26-26), I will be sharing a message entitled, “Beginning to Sink” – Part 2 and it will focus on Matthew 14:28-30. This is the second of a two-part message that will deal with Peter walking on water. As the story goes, Peter was walking on water, but the moment he took his eyes off of Jesus, he began to sink. When he sank, it exposed a lot about the physical and spiritual life of Peter.

So, join us this Sunday as we learn what causes us to sink in life and how to avoid the pitfalls of sinking. – Pastor Dennis

USBC - The Heart Speaks 7-12-26

Have you ever felt as if you were having a heart attack? When such symptoms appear, you have to make some lifesaving changes. It has been stressed that when you experience such life-threatening symptoms, one should seek medical help immediately. If you ignore the warning signs, you may run the risk of future health issues or even death.

This Sunday (7-12-26), I will be sharing a message entitled, “The Heart Speaks” and it will focus on Luke 6:43-45. God has not only given us a human heart, but He has also given us a spiritual heart. This precious heart is designed to live out the love of God. However, there are times that our spiritual heart is in danger of a massive heart attack.

So, join us Sunday as we will talk about how to keep our spiritual heart healthy so that we can accomplish God’s purpose for our life. – Pastor Dennis

USBC - A New Beginning 7-5-26

Have you ever made a poor decision in life and you wished that you could start over? If you answered “yes” to this question, you are just like everyone else. We have all made some bad choices in life and have regretted it ever since.

This Sunday (7-5-26), I will be sharing a very encouraging message entitled, “A New Beginning” and it will focus on Joshua 1:1-9. This particular passage deals with Joshua taking God’s people into the Promised Land for the very first time. The Israelites finally get to break the heartache that they experienced in the desert and start over in a land of new beginnings. This uplifting message will give everyone hope that they too can move away from their painful past and start over.

USBC - VBS 2026 Service 6-28-26

As a kid, did you go to Vacation Bible School (VBS)? VBS was that special time of summer when we kids went to church to learn more about Jesus in a fun and memorable way. Each day we had a special Bible lesson, sang catchy songs, did a fun craft, ate delicious snacks, and had recreation that was a blast.

This week (June 26th-June 28th), USBC is having VBS and our theme is Surprise Party! Jesus loves to throw a surprise party. And what is surprising about His parties, is that everyone is invited. His grace is extended to all.

On Sunday (June 28th), during our 11 a.m. Sunday morning worship service, the children will be sharing their Bible stories, singing their songs, reciting their memory verses, and showing you, their crafts. So please, come out to support and encourage our children as they grow in the Lord.

USBC - Remote Control 6-21-26

What is one of the greatest inventions of all times? Duct tape ranks up there, but one of the greatest inventions in my generation is the TV remote control. Now think about it? Before the remote control, we actually had to get up and change the TV channel, get up to adjust the TV volume, and get up to turn the TV on and off. Today’s modern invention of the TV remote control has allowed us to watch TV with ease.

This Sunday (6-21-26), I will be sharing a message entitled, “What You Can Learn from a Remote Control” and it will focus on Genesis 35:1-7. You see, the TV remote is the instrument that controls all functions on the TV. In life, God has given us a remote control that has the power to control our life. This is called our freewill. However, God has asked us to place our remote control into His guiding hands and let Him select what is appropriate for our lives.

On Sunday, we will learn together, especially us men and fathers, in how to let Christ have adequate control of lives. If we give Him our remote control, He will place us on the right channel of life, control what we need to listen to, and empower our lives.
