Summer has been sweet, but the season ahead is filled with purpose and promise. Let’s shake off the dust of spiritual drowsiness, lace up our boots, and step forward together into everything God has prepared for us to accomplish this fall.

A very important thing that we can do as we enter this new season is to reconnect with one another. Hebrews 10:24-25 tells us, “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Summer schedules can scatter us — vacations, weekend get-a-ways, family reunions — and before we know it, we’ve been away from the body of Christ for weeks at a time. But God designed us for fellowship. He created the church not as an optional accessory to faith, but as the very family through which He works, heals, teaches, and sends. As we move into fall, I want to personally invite every one of you to come back to the table. Come back to Sunday morning worship. Come back to Sunday School. Come back to Bible study and prayer meeting. We have missed you, and more importantly, the body is incomplete without you.

Beyond simply attending, look for ways to actively encourage and serve one another. Send a text to someone you haven’t seen in a while and let them know you’re thinking of them. Invite a neighbor or coworker to join you for a Sunday service. Volunteer for one of our fall ministry opportunities.

You see, the church is not a building; it is a living, breathing family of believers who lock arms and walk through life together. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 says, “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” This fall, let’s be a church that doesn’t just show up but shows up for each other. Let’s be the kind of congregation that makes people feel seen, known, and loved the moment they walk through our doors.
